    Who we are

This policy covers the 1secondlap.com website and the 1SecondLap mobile app for iOS (including its Apple Watch app and widgets). For privacy questions contact docuexltd@gmail.com.

    The short version

1SecondLap does not require an account and has no server of its own. Everything you record — laps, workouts, runs, rides, routes, heart rate and other sensor readings — is stored only on your own device and is never uploaded, sold, or shared with anyone. The only exception is optional Google Analytics on the website, which is never included in the mobile app.

    Data the iOS app uses

The iOS app asks for permission before using any of the following. Each one is optional — the relevant feature simply stays off if you decline — and all of the resulting data stays on your device.

Location. When you start an outdoor run or ride, the app uses GPS (with your “while using the app” permission) to measure distance, pace, and your route. Routes and stats are saved to a local database on your device so you can review your progress, and can be exported by you (for example as a GPX file). Your location is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Motion & fitness. With your permission, the app reads your device’s step counter to count steps during walks. Step data is processed and stored only on your device.

Bluetooth sensors. The app can connect to Bluetooth heart rate monitors, bike sensors, and fitness machines (FTMS) to show live heart rate, cadence, power, speed, and distance. These connections are made directly between your device and the sensor. Readings are shown on screen and saved with your workout history on your device only.

Apple Health. If you grant access, the app saves your completed workouts, runs, and rides to Apple Health. The app only writes to Apple Health; it does not read your Health data. Data you store in Apple Health is governed by Apple’s privacy protections, and you can review or revoke access at any time in the Health app. We never use Health or fitness data for advertising or marketing, and we never disclose it to third parties.

Widgets and Live Activities. Your most recent session summary is shared with the app’s widget and Lock Screen Live Activity. This sharing happens entirely on your device.

No tracking. The iOS app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

    Voice announcements

Interval announcements use your device’s built-in text-to-speech. The spoken cues are generated locally on your device and no audio or text is transmitted.

    Website analytics

On 1secondlap.com, if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which features are used. Google Analytics may collect your IP address, browser and device information, and pages viewed. We do not show advertising. If you reject, we use Google’s Consent Mode v2 so that no analytics cookies are stored and only aggregated, cookieless measurement is sent. The mobile app never loads Google Analytics.

    Storage and retention

Your settings, presets, and workout history are kept in local storage and a local database on your device (keys and files starting with 1secondlap.). They stay there until you delete them: you can clear your session history from within the app, remove workouts you saved to Apple Health via the Health app, clear your browser storage for the website, or uninstall the app — uninstalling removes all app data. Your consent choice on the website persists in your browser until you clear or change it. Google Analytics retains user-level data for up to 14 months by default.

    Legal basis

Under the GDPR, website analytics data is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time using the “Change cookie settings” button below or on the home page. Data processed by the app (location, motion, heart rate, workouts) never leaves your device, so no personal data is processed by us at all.

    Who receives your data

Nobody, apart from Google in the single case described above: website analytics data (only if you consent) is processed by Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited. Google may transfer data outside the EEA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Workout, location, health, and sensor data from the app is never sent to us or anyone else.

    Your rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because app data lives only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly: view your history in the app, export it, or delete it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact docuexltd@gmail.com.
